Our new Fragrance Free Shaving Cream and Aftershave Balm for Sensitive Skin
Not a working day goes by without someone getting in touch to ask for advice on how to treat post-shave irritation and sensitive skin. Symptoms typically include, redness, itchiness, razor burn and rashes. The obvious solution is to treat the cause not the symptom.
When we drilled down, we would often find out that the enquirer was using products containing perfume and all sorts of chemicals that prolong the life of the product or change its colour or help with the lathering or ease of application.
If you suffer from post-shave irritation the main causes will likely be shaving with a cartridge razor, shaving with a blunt blade, shaving against the grain, pressing too hard when shaving, poor technique and finally the products used to provide the shaving lather and what is applied to the skin after shaving. A major reason however is surely perfume, and that’s why you should use our new Fragrance Free Shaving Cream and Aftershave Balm for Sensitive Skin, it contains zero perfume.
In late 2018 we asked the cosmetic chemist who was responsible for our Original, Citrus Kiss, Fresh Mint and Bay Rum shaving creams and balms to formulate a shaving cream and balm that is free of perfume, nasty chemicals, colourants and parabens (used to prolong shelf life).
Many samples were submitted to us, eventually in late March 2019 we pressed the button on what is now our Fragrance Free Shaving Cream and Aftershave Balm for Sensitive Skin. Because of COVID-19 it was mid-December before we took delivery of these products.
They are available as individual items and as a duo, the packaging is recyclable and they are extremely good value for money, the cream is £18.50 for 200mls while the balm is £18.50 for 150mls or buy both for only £35.00.
These products benefit from Oat Beta Glucan, a natural component that provides the rejuvenating, soothing power of oats. Oat Beta Glucan moisturises, soothes, reduces the appearance of redness and helps reduce the visible signs of ageing, such as fine wrinkles.
The shaving cream lathers up to a rich, protective and moisturising lather that delivers wonderful cushioning and razor glide while the balm soothes and moisturises shaves skin.
Being perfume free, you can immediately use your favourite fragrance on the back of the neck and pulse points but not on the face and neck.
