Benefits of wet shaving with a safety razor

1. Better for your skin – shaving with a safety razor reduces skin irritation, razor bumps and ingrown hairs that are common with multi blade cartridges and electric razors. With a safety razor you only have one blade against your skin at any one time. Using a pre shave oil and a highly concentrated shaving cream also provides much greater protection for your skin than a shaving gel or foam.
2. It will save you money – the razor and brush will last you for many years. The cost of replacement blades is also much cheaper than multi blade cartridge system. A safety razor blade costs approximately 35p compared to around £2.50-£3.00 per 5 blade cartridge. As our shaving cream is so highly concentrated, only a tiny amount is required for a 3 pass shave. The 200ml tub will last around 6 months of daily shaving.
3. It’s better for the environment – disposable razors are not recyclable and a huge number end up in landfill and in the oceans each year. Steel safety razor blades are recyclable which means that they should not end up in landfill. The packaging for the pre shave, shaving cream etc is also 100% recyclable so there is no more aerosol cans. 
    

• Dispense 2 or 3 pumps of Pre Shave Oil into the hands and work into a lather. Massage into the areas to be shaved. Apply the shaving cream lather on top.
• To lather the cream, place a little (about the size of a baked bean!) shaving cream into a lathering bowl along with a few drops of warm water and use the brush to whisk up a rich creamy lather. Alternatively, load the brush with some cream and lather directly onto the face.
• Shave twice with the grain of the hair and once across the grain, reapplying the lather in between passes. We recommend you shave at a 30° angle and apply little pressure when you shave. Shave in short strokes of 25-30mm at a time.
• Use the Alum Matchsticks if you suffer from any nicks during the shave. Tear one out of the book and wet the head with cold water. Dab onto the nick to kill bacteria and stop any bleeding.
• When you've finished shaving, wash any excess lather from the area with cold water. This helps to close the pores. 
• Apply 1 or 2 pumps of Intensive Moisturiser to the shave area to soothe the skin.
• Rinse the brush under running water to wash away any shaving cream. Shake excess water off before rubbing dry with a towel.
