Eau de Cologne contains a higher percentage of aromatic compounds than a traditional aftershave. Cologne strength is around 7%, whilst an aftershave is only 1%-3% in strength. A good cologne will deliver a long-lasting scent which will linger for some time after application. Not to be confused with an aftershave which tends to dissipate immediately after application.

Best for evenings, for the winter months opt for dark, woody type scents such as Sandalwood, Spanish Leather, and the more traditional scents. For the warmer summer months opt for a lighter scent such as the Hierbas De Mallorca cologne range from Spain which features lime, lemon and other Mediterranean fragrances.
