Japanese Water Stones

Japanese Water Stones

Honing Stones such as Japanese Waterstones are ideal for maintaining the cutting edge on precision woodworking tools, fine cutlery and unsurprisingly - cut throat straight razors.

Our Japanese Waterstones have very fine 6000 grade grit which is perfect for maintaining a sharp cutting edge.

Like the ever popular Norton Waterstones, Japanese Waterstones use water for a lubricant and flushing agent. They're easier to clean than oilstones and they won't leave an oil residue on your tools.

These fast cutting stones give you feedback as you work, so it's easier to feel and maintain the correct angle as you sharpen.

We have two Japanese Honing Stones in stock; one comes complete with a fitted plastic base which keeps your stone off the work surface and reduces wobble priced at only £55.00. The other Japanese Waterstone we have in stock is the same type of honing stone but without the base, at only £52.50 this stone is our top seller, to view click here.

The Japanese have long been involved in the production of these superior sharpening honing stones, dating back to 4500 BC when the first samurai swords were made.
