This particular Thiers-Issard razor is called the Durandal.
It benefits from real horn scales, gold plating and a full hollow ground blade.
Often referred to as a 'singing razor' due to the audible sound the razor makes when it's shaving. Durandal comes from the French word 'durer' - to endure, Durandal is a sword brought by an angel who gave it to Helen of Troy (so the story goes).

The horn scales are particularly beautiful, mostly black in colour but with streaks of grey and brown.
The tang is stamped with the words 'Thiers-Issard made in France' and the TI crown logo.
The face of the blade has an image of a sabre cutting into a mountain in 24c gold.
The 6/8ths blade has a highly polished mirror finish.

Thiers-Issard razors are made in France the traditional, old fashioned way by craftsmen who take a real pride in what they produce.

The razor comes with a real leather, Thiers-Issard branded pouch.

These razors leave the workshop in a 'shave ready' condition. However the cutting edge of the razor (the fin) may bend over ever so slightly. Stropping will right the fin. This razor should not need honed for at least 9 months if stropped properly. We recommend you watch some YouTube tutorial videos before your strop this razor.
To prevent corrosion, after use, you must dry the razor thoroughly and store in a dry environment. The razor will benefit from a light application of razor oil if it's going to be stored for more than a few days between use.

Located in Thiers, France, Thiers-Issard have been making cut throat razors since 1884, they still use tried and trusted traditional manufacturing methods and every razor that leaves the small workshop is tested and passed as 'shave ready' for your use.

We recommend you watch some YouTube tutorial videos before you shave with this razor.

This razor is beautifully finished and difficult to source, we waited 6 months to get these razors in stock. Handmade excellence from the masters Thiers-Issard.
