So, you own a Rolex, a fancy car, a nice big house and you have a drop dead gorgeous partner yet something in your life is missing. If you are that man you need Marfin brush #258 to be truly fulfilled.
Marfin #258 is the only brush exactly like it in the world due to it being handmade using old fashioned hand tools by one man, Marco Finardi an Italian artisan who painstakingly made this brush for you. Marco even supplies you with a signed certificate of authenticity which is sealed with a wax stamp. Additionally #258 is numbered and marked with the Marfin elephant logo. The entire process to make this brush takes around 3 weeks.
Based in Cremona, Italy Marfin shaving brushes benefit from a generous 26mm knot of the finest Silvertip badger hair set in Italian plateau briarwood which is known for its outstanding, beautifully detailed grain which features swirls and sweeps of dark and light brown colours and mottled, marble like areas.

One upper corner of #258 features an exposed area of root seen in the images.

WE SAY

Astonishing! This particular brush is one of my all-time favourite Marfin brushes. The grain is so beautiful and the exposed area of root sets this brush apart from others.

Marco tells us:
Once I see an interesting piece of Italian Plateau Briarwood, I study its shape closely and imagine how the brush may look with a knot of hair. The ergonomics have to be correct as the brush has to be convenient and comfortable to use.
The root is then cut and trimmed with rasps and files before being sanded with increasingly finer sandpapers. The hole for the knot is then drilled and then the handle is coloured using natural pigments.
The handle is then sealed to make it watertight by dipping it in Tung Oil. This procedure is done in a room with a controlled temperature for a few days before it is dried over two weeks in an airy room.
The brush is then ready for polishing. No less than 4 stages of polishing is required, each stage uses an increasingly fine abrasive powder. The handle is then polished with Carnauba Wax and the knot of hair is cemented into the handle.
