This is NOT the Kickstarter version, this is the 2016 finished article, it's very well made, hefty in the hand and the six heads is a wonderful idea. This is a razor for everyone, it will shave as midly as a Feather Japanese safety razor or as closely as a cut throat razor depending on the plate you use.
The Rockwell 6S includes the following all stainless steel components which are made in the USA:
* Handle with knurled grip
* 3 reversible base plates providing sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6
* Plate A: Sizes 1 and 3, Plate B: Sizes 2 and 4, Plate C: Sizes 5 and 6
* Blade cap
* 5 Rockwell double-edge razor blades made from Swedish steel
Handle length: 85mm
Weight with head attached: 120g
The head, handle and plates are all made from stainless steel.
HOW TO USE
We recommend most men should start off with number 3, see how it goes, if it's too mild move up to number 4, 5 or 6. If the shave is too close for you, move down to a 1, 2 or 3 plate.
If you haven't shaved for a few days use a high number then drop down to a lower number for your second and final passes.
I have a Rockwell 6s. It is a fantastic razor that is easy to adapt to your face. I find it a good weight and well balanced. The handle is regular length for a DE razor and the plate system is easy to use. I vary the plates I use depending on how many days between shave. It is a dependable razor and very good value for money.
An interesting concept and good value for money, well made and a worthwhile addition to my ever growing collection of safety razors.
I purchased Rockwell 6S. Excellent razor. Six options of adjustment. Excellent shop. Fast delivery. I will buy in this shop still. Excuse for my bad English.
I bought one of these razors a couple of months ago but wanted to evaluate it before leaving a review. Quite simply, it gives the best shaves I've ever had in 40+ years of DE shaving. There's something intangible about the sense of confidence it inspires in the user. I suspect it's something to do with the way the cutting edges of the blades are rigidly supported along their entire length but I can't be certain. All I know is that good preparation and any half-decent blade guarantees a smooth, fuss-free shave. As an aside, I can't praise Executive Shaving's customer service highly enough. There was a fault with the razor I purchased. I returned it on a Thursday afternoon after discussing the problem with E.S. and received a replacement on Saturday morning, less than 48 hours later. Any other retailers reading this, please note!
I have owned and used many types of DE razors, and now have been using the Rockwell for several weeks now. I think it is the best DE razor I have ever used in the 35 years of shaving. Very adjustable in terms by choosing different razor heads to fit one's specific skin type. Solid stainless steel and very well made. Using this razor you feel you are holding precision made and indestructible.
This might not be quite as sleek looking as some other stainless steel DE razors (which all cost a lot more, if they're available) but the shave it gives is up there with the best of them. Furthermore, the fact it has six settings mean you don't have to take a chance on a razor which might not have quite the blade gap and exposure that's right for you. It provides a very smooth shave no matter which base plate is used, and doesn't tend to produce cuts or scrapes even on its most "aggressive" setting, which really mows the whiskers down. If you're looking for a razor that will last a lifetime or more, this is one to consider very seriously.
Having deliberated of a couple of weeks about which razor to buy as a move on up replacement for my EJ R89 the choice I was left with was either the Braveheart 6s, Merkur Futur. I decided to opt for the 6s with it having an all stainless steel head and 3 base plates giving a choice of shaves. I have not been disappointed by the Rockwell 6s. It always gives a close shave, being very smooth whilst shaving, far smoother that the R89 with less weepers, and less irritation on the neck. At the moment I have only tried plates 3 and 4 but these are giving me the BBS result I like event after 1 to 3 days’ growth. I have not tried the Rockwell blades, but instead have stayed with my got to blades, Persona Blues and Astra SP's, that fit with close precision so no blade alignment is required.
A great razor. The flexibility to adjust the aggressiveness is great. The finish on the top cap and handle screw threads could be better - they don't mate in the ultra smooth fashion that an ATT does. The razor feel is unique and ultra smooth with all of the plates. Balanced well and a good heft. Highly recommended whether you're an experienced DE shaver or just starting out. This razor is in the top echelons for performance and I'm very pleased to own one.
