The Kronos M1 is a mild, non aggressive shaver and is best suited to those with sensitive skin problems and those guys who wish a comfortable yet close shave. The Kronos M1 is the least aggressive of the Above The Tie Range of Kronos safety razors.
Only available in UK and Europe from Executive Shaving. Manufactured to the highest possible tolerances by craftsmen who take an obvious pride in what they make. These are not razors that are churned out in their 1000s, these razors are individually made and finished.
The Kronos M1 is a big razor, it weighs in at a hefty 110g, the handle is 87mm (3.5") long.
Presented in a satin-matte finish. The base plate is engraved with the words 'ABOVE THE TIE 2013 MADE IN USA'.
The handle features a deep knurl, no danger of losing your grip on this razor while you shave. The top head has two protruding pins that fit precisley into two dimples on the base plate which ensures perfect blade symmetry when assembled.
HOW TO USE
Ensure the face is well lubricated using a pre shave treatment and a shaving soap, cream or gel.
Shave with the razor at a 30° angle to your face using a sharp blade.
Stretch your skin as you shave ensuring the area you are shaving is pulled tight.
We recommend that you shave twice with the grain and once against the grain.
Excellent advice and service from Brian.
I currently use a shimmed De89 with Ikon bulldog handle. This razor is just as smooth but much more efficient. It is worth every penny.
Like a smoother more efficient EJ89 with superb fit and finish.
I tried the M1 and R1 and found the R1 too aggressive.
The "M1" is more like moderate then mild. Great as a daily razor but still enough aggression to take down days worth of growth.
Its great with Astra Sp's or for something a little closer it handles the Feathers perfectly.
I have been using this razor for a few weeks now and am absolutely delighted with it. As stated by 'Alex' in his review, the M1 definitely gives a moderate (as opposed to mild) shave. Fit and finish are superb and the weight is excellent. The construction of the head makes cleaning a lot easier than I expected and given that it's a solid lump of stainless steel, there's no chrome/nickel plating to wear off over time. The shave itself is very smooth, controlled and I now only need two passes to get the job done. ATT have also included a little box of Personna blades which is nice of them as these are one of my 'go to' blades and they pair up well with the razor. Now that my face has got used to the Kronos, I don't think I will be changing razor any time soon :-)
