I would give this razor 10 stars out of 5 if I could, very close shaver, take your time, it will change your shaving experience for ever.
I have bought far too many razors over the years but the search has now stopped as this is THE ONE. If you want an unparalleled shave from a safety razor without looking like Edward Scissorhands from a DE then this is a must buy. Do not be put off with forums talking about its aggressiveness (gentler blades are available) or its weight as you can just let it do the shaving as quick as any other safety. Service and advice was also top notch.
Unbelievable razor, especially with the Feather Light blade.
This is one razor to rule them all... incredibly close but very smooth shaver in the right hands and simply beautiful!
The GODFATHER of all safety razors, treat it with respect, it will never let you down.
Best of the best ! This is no doubt the ultimate razor for life. I intend to hand it down through the generations. I have tried Murker and all the top rated razors and this one razor rises above them all. Forget all the multi blade razors, more blades does not equal a closer shave, only the quality of one good razor fitted with one good blade is all you need to get the best ever shave. Cobra is that razor. Great design, in quality stainless steel to last a lifetime. Treat it with respect, only a gentle touch is required to master this beautifully crafted piece. Maybe expensive but worth every penny. Great customer service and knowledgeable staff.
Just had my first shave with my brand new cobra. I armed myself with plenty of tissues & styptic but did not need either. This razor is 'the business' 'the daddy'. Yes it is heavier than most but if you treat it with respect, the results are just fantastic. You can feel whats going on with the blade through the handle. I had to wait 2 weeks for mine to arrive & it was well worth the wait. Well done to Brian & his team for finding this treasure.
The cobra razor well all I can say Fantastic. I'm very pleased it left we with a very close shave. Highly recommended Thank you Excutive Shaving Co.

Having used straights I thought this would be a walk in the park - I was wrong. Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful piece of work and gives a great close shave but getting the angles right is a must. I've not quite found the best way of holding the handle for ATG and XTG passes - it's triangular in shape and only two edges are ribbed so you need to find a comfortable grip especially as the head is wider than a normal SE or DE.
My only disappointment was that it does not come in a presentation/storage box - just a cardboard outer. Although blade fitting is pretty obvious, maybe a guide on opening and closing the blade holder and ensuring the blade is located properly wouldn't go amiss. For this reason alone I''ve given 4.5 - the razor itself is 5 star.
The Cobra is a fine razor, however after two shaves I have not been able to tame it. The Cobra is ultra aggressive (already quite a few weepers, however styptic saved the day) and the noise when shaving is immense. I will tame this beast and will get to love it as I do my Feather!
I took delivery of some Feather ProGuards yesterday and the change was incredible!!
With the Feather Pros' for me the razor was unusable, as it was far too agressive.
With the proguards, whats a difference. I did not think anything could beat the Feather All Stainless with feather blades, but the Cobra with pro-guards is just incredible!!
Really good safety razor!! I used to alternate between a straight edge or a DE safety razor, depending on the level of aggressiveness needed. The Cobra Classic falls neatly between the two. For those who prefer to use different razors for different occasions like me then this razor is a MUST BUY. Ie:
- Straight Razor: weddings, or places where pictures are taken.
- Cobra Classic: Dates or job interviews
- DE safety razor: everyday/work use
The Cobra is known to be aggressive and definitely cut you if you are not paying close attention but if you do manage to cut yourself then maybe you should stick to a child's razor like a Mach 3 or something. I managed to have a cut / nick/ irritation free shave on my first attempt using the feather pro blades (the blades without the guards. One point I will agree on with other reviewers is that with Cobra Classic is that it gives such a close shave that there isn't any hair left to shave after 2 passes. The Cobra Classic is hand made so the finish may be less than perfect, however it reassuringly weighted and the handle's underside is knurled so it's easy to grip. The shaving head is wider but is easy to get used to, can be an advantage if you're running low on time. Due to the slim design of the cutting edge it is really easy to shave that awkward area beneath the nose. Which is a delightful bonus as I have problems with this area using the DE razor.
Final words: if you think yourself to be a shaving savant who owns a collection ( straights, SE, DE, slant and injector) and you don't own a Cobra. Your collection is incomplete and by default so are you.
Without doubt the king of the safety razors. Even the slants are left in its dust.
