Fitjar Is Back!

It was on 25th June 2013 that Jorunn the soap maker and owner of Fitjar Sapekokeri (soap) announced that she was discontinuing production due to ‘new cosmetics legislation involving comprehensive bureaucratic requirements, so there is no longer an economic basis for continued operation. EU regulations require extensive documentation and analysis of each product in order to market and sell it. I have therefore decided to close down the operation of Fitjar Soap’.
We were shocked and very disappointed by Jorunn’s decision as we had built up a loyal base of Fitjar aficionados who like me appreciated the fabulous quality, all-natural and artisan nature of Fitjar products. Moreover, I had become friendly with Jorunn, she has a great sense of humour and her ethics were admirable.
Then out of the blue around six months ago Jorunn contacted us and let us know that she would be cooking again. We now have some Fitjar products available for sale including surely two of the best wet shaving products in the world, Folgefonn Shaving Cream and Folgefonn Cooling Aftershave Gel.
What makes Fitjar products so special? Why do we already have a Fitjar waiting list? Well for a start Fitjar products are as natural as can be; they’re free from alcohol and parabens.
