Review: All About Baume.Be For Men with Sensitive Skin

All About Baume

Karl Indigne (pictured) is the man behind the Baume.Be brand. He tells us he has very sensitive skin and had been using a particular alcohol fee balm after shaving. One day Karl could no longer find that balm so he made his own and so began the Baume.Be story. Karl is based in Belgium, his products are designed for men with sensitive skin but men who appreciate good quality shaving products will also love the Baume.Be range. Executive Shaving stock Baume.Be Shaving Cream and Aftershave Balm, both are good sellers with high repeat sales which is a good sign.

I haven’t used Baume.Be for a few years and even then all I did was use the cream and balm three of four times to make sure they performed well and gave me no negative reaction and then they were given to a colleague for him to try. So, a week or two ago I bought myself a Baume.Be Shaving Cream and Aftershave Balm (staff discount is a blessing) and gave them a try out.

Baume.BE Shaving CreamThe Shaving Cream

It has an unusual colour for a shaving cream – it’s beige some may say light yellow, not white but don’t let that put you off. Karl could have made the cream a brilliant white but that would mean adding artificial colourants and that is against everything Karl stands for.  Strangely, once you start to lather the cream up it turns white. When you lather up you immediately get a waft of the pleasant, woody, floral scent with its top notes of spice, amber, musk, oak moss and citrus. It a comforting scent that’s especially nice in the morning. Baume.Be shaving cream is easy to whip up into a rich creamy lather, like the very best shaving creams an amount equal to 2 baked beans is more than enough for a generously lathered three pass shave.
What users will surely notice is the high degree of razor glide and cushioning this cream delivers, it reminds me very much of our own Executive Shaving Natural Shaving Cream and Castle Forbes Lavender Cream.

Baume.BE Aftershave BalmThe Aftershave Balm

This has the same scent as the shaving cream and like the shaving cream it’s free of parabens, alcohol, colourants’ and nasty chemicals. It spreads easily on the face and neck leaving a pleasant, soft feel to the skin with no greasy, shiny residue. This balm is a superb skin soother and moisturiser, if you have post shave problems with redness and or itchiness then you should try Baume.Be. Aftershave Balm.
Both the shaving cream and aftershave balm come in ceramic glass containers that look fabulous in the bathroom.

How Much?

The shaving cream is £20.00 for 200ml so it’s in the Castle Forbes price range but it’s also in the Castle Forbes quality range. I estimate you’ll get between 5 and 6 months daily shaving from a jar of Baume.Be shaving cream.
The aftershave balm is £23.00 for 100ml which is in the price range I would expect a high quality balm to be in, (prices correct on 14th Feb' 2018).
If you buy both together you save £5.00 here.

Ratings

Shaving Cream: Rated 5 star by our customers, I loved the scent and the protection it delivers, it's very easy to whip into a workable lather, no complaints whatsoever. 10/10.

Aftershave Balm: Again rated 5 star by our customers, the ceramic container benefits from a push button airless dispenser so applying the balm to your hands is easy. It spreads quickly and doesn’t leave the skin sticky and shiny, very moisturising. 9/10.

Summary

If you suffer from sensitive skin and post shave irritation you really should give Baume.Be a try out, even if you don’t suffer from these skin problems give Baume.Be a try, their products are exceptionally good quality and long lasting. Highly recommended by Executive Shaving.
