Q: What is the best razor blade?

Q; What razor blade should I use?

Q: What are the top razors blades sold at Executive Shaving?

These are questions we are asked daily. In this blog post, we will answer these questions by reviewing the Top Five Razor Blades as decided by our customers, who have voted them the best after buying them from us on a regular basis over the last 12 months.

We last did this way back in 2017, you can see the original blog post - The Top Five Razor Blades at Executive Shaving – and compare how blade popularity has changed over the years.

Astra Razor BladesNumber 5 – Astra

A new entrant at number five, Astra is a razor blade that has proved extremely popular with our customers. Now produced in St. Petersburg, Russia, by P&G, the Astra blade is a good all-round blade. This platinum-coated razor blade is suitable for all types of DE razors and all skin types. It delivers a good shave without post-shave irritation.
Astra razor blades are available in plastic-free, cardboard packs of five blades, as well as a larger trade pack of twenty sleeves of blades.

Number 4 – VoskhodVoskhod Razor Blades

Another new entry at number four is Voskhod, a superb close shaving blade made in Russia from Swedish Steel. The Voskhod blade gives a close shave with reduced irritation due to its Teflon coating. This anti-rusting coating is non-sticky and reduces friction during shaving. It is ideal for those shavers who suffer from post-shave irritation.
Suitable for all De razors, Voskhod blades are available in packs of five blades and a larger trade pack of twenty sleeves of blades.

Gillette Silver Blue Razor BladesNumber 3 – Gillette Silver Blue

Holding steady at number three is a famous name in wet shaving, the Gillette Silver Blue razor blade.
Now made under license in St. Petersburg, Russia, these blades give an effortless shave, one that is close, yet does not have the same ‘roughness’ or ‘aggressiveness’ that can sometimes be experienced with Feather blades.

Gillette Silver Blue razor blades are available in a plastic-free, cardboard pack of five blades, as well as a larger trade pack of twenty sleeves of blades.

Number 2 – PersonnaPersonna Razor Blades

In second place is our favourite razor blade – Personna.
Now made in Solingen, Germany from high-quality steel, Personna is a byword for shaving excellence. We recommend these blades to wet shavers of all abilities, novices, and experienced hands alike. They give a close, comfortable shave and are great value too.
Available in packs of ten blades, or again, a larger trade pack of twenty sleeves. You can’t go wrong with Personna.

Feather Razor BladesNumber 1 – Feather

Holding on to its top spot at number one is the king of blades – Feather.
Nicked named the ‘Ninja’ by some in the wet shaving community, the Feather blade is regarded as the ultimate blade to master. Sharper than a surgical scalpel, each blade gives an assertive, close shave.

Mostly recommended for more experienced wet shavers, however, if you suffer from post-shave skin irritation, the Feather blade is one to try as it shaves closer in fewer passes and fewer passes lead to less post-shave irritation.
Available in a sleeve of ten blades, or again, a larger trade pack of twenty sleeves.

Other brands of Razor blades that didn’t quite make the top ten but are still popular amongst our customers are Muhle, Gillette 7 O’clock Green, Gillette 7 O’clock Yellow, Tiger, Super Shave X and Gillette Platinum.
