Vintage Almost Mint 1958 D 1 Gillette Super Speed Safety Razor
This wonderfully preserved Vintage 1958 Gillette Super Speed Safety Razor is a lovely example of 1950's American engineering and design. The razor can safely be described as almost mint, it would be mint but for some tiny, barely seen, inconsequential scratches on the head of the razor.
The razor is stamped 'D 1' which dates it to the first quarter in the year 1958.
This vintage Gillette has a Twist To Open (TTO) shaving head.
The TTO doors operate as if they were made yesterday.
It takes all double edge safety razor blades.
It has a slightly flared end which adds weight to the handle to provide the perfect weight to length ratio.
The handle is in excellent condition - no scratches, no dents and no brassing, it's very bright and shiny.
No brassing anywhere on this classic safety razor, the plating is fully intact.
This gorgeous vintage razor weighs 60 g and it's 80 mm in length, it gives a very close, fuss free and comfortable shave.
Very collectible and very usable - especially in this condition.
