Vintage Gold Plated Gillette Aristocrat 1946 - 1947 - STUNNING
Manufactured in the USA, this particular model was only manufactured between 1946 and 1947.
The Gold Plated Gillette Aristocrat is one of the most sought after vintage safety razors.
This one is in excellent, almost mint condition throughout, no loss of gold plating and unusually - no scratches (other than a few, minuscule, cosmetic type scratches on the head). There is a tiny bit of red coloured staining on the end of the handle from the red velvet lining in the box. I'm pretty sure that this can be removed.
Stamped on the underside of the head is 'REG U.S. PAT OFF MADE IN U.S.A and the Gillette logo.
The Gold Plated Aristocrat has a Twist To Open (TTO) mechanism for easy and safe blade changing. The doors open and close exactly the way they should, mechanically this razor is perfect.
The box is in fairly good condition, some minor staining inside, the outer covering is fine, the box opens, closes and shuts tight exactly as it should.
Also included is a gold plated razor blade holder containing an unopened Wolverine Razor Blade.
This is a rare safety razor in fantastic condition, very hard to find such a gem.
