A shaving bowl can be used with both shaving soaps and creams, allowing you to work up a rich, creamy lather before applying the lather to your face.
For lathering up shaving creams, place a small amount of cream into the bowl, add a few drops of water and with your shaving brush, work up a rich creamy lather. Then apply the lather to the face, lather up on the face for at least a minute for best results.
If you use shaving soap, leave the soap in the bowl and lather up as you would with a shaving cream.
The traditional shave bowls are available in a variety of styles and materials including porcelain, pewter, acrylic, real buffalo horn and in a selection of lathe turned woods.
