Using the compact Shavette by Dovo allows you to get used to the angle and technique required for a comfortable straight razor shave. In addition, the blade holder acts as a guard that prevents the leading corner of the blade from cutting you.

To replace the blade, slide out the red blade holder and insert half a double-edge safety razor blade into the holder, making sure it is held in place by the notches. Then, simply, close the red holder and slide back into the Shavette (you should be able to see the very edge of the blade exposed from the razor). Ensure that the blade is aligned properly before shaving.
